Friends of Clam Lake (FoCL) -- Fish Habitat Project
ARE YOU INTERESTED?
Partnering with other members of the Elk River Chain of Lakes (ERCOL), Friends of Clam Lake is working towards establishing fish habitats/shelters in Clam Lake, as well as Intermediate Lake, Lake Bellaire, Torch Lake, Lake Skegemog and Elk Lake.  IF YOU’RE INTERESTED in having one of these shelters installed on the lake bottom in front of your property, please contact us at friendsofclamlake@charter.net.   These habitats will be DNR and DEQ approved, installed at depths below 10 feet.  They will not interfere with boating traffic or deter from your lake view.

Many of you saw this book at our Annual Meeting.  We are offering it for $20 plus shipping/delivery costs.  This book makes a great gift for birthdays, Holidays, or just a remembrance of “Up North”.  Send us an email at friendsofclamlake@charter.net and let us know how many and how you want them delivered.  We will send you an email with what the total costs will be.  Then, once we receive your check, the books will be shipped.

The photography is by local photographer, Dana Vannoy, of Williamsburg, MI.  The book of images traces the water emerging in the northern and eastern edges of the watershed through its 55 mile journey including fourteen lakes and several rivers to the mouth of Elk River which empties into the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay in Elk Rapids, MI.  Besides being a book of photographic art specifically about the 500 square mile watershed, the nature images in the collection also include wildlife and the forests and farm lands that support the Chain of Lakes.
